It was a time of immense joy in the city of Maiduguri, especially for Christian faithful and followers of the revered man of God, Pastor E. A. Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, who visited the city of Maiduguri in company of his wife, Pastor (Mrs) Folu Adeboye for the first time in his life.
The city which had been thrown into darkness following the horror activities of terrorists in the state had not had any mass gathering of people for religious activities since the insurgents claimed substantial control of the state and created fear in the minds of people. Church activities outside the perimeter wall of a church building had been restricted and not to be contemplated. However, the Light-Up Borno Prayer Rally powered by the Reach4Christ team has broken the jinx. The Light-Up Borno Prayer Rally held on Wednesday and Thursday, 26th and 27th October, 2022, in Maiduguri, the capital city of Borno State.
The power of God has been proven to be no match to that of darkness once again. In spite of all odds – human and spiritual attempts to stop the meeting, the untiring light-bearer, our coach and father, Pastor E. A. Adeboye, landed at the Maiduguri International Airport, putting an end to the siege on the gospel in the land.
The El-Kanemi Warriors Sports Centre, the venue of the prayer rally, witnessed a mass turnout of joyful people from all walks of life. In spite of the heat of the sun, many people defied the weather to secure seats as early as 10:00am for the meeting scheduled for 3:00pm.
The Stadium erupted on sighting the security motorcade arriving with the octogenarian General Overseer who went straight to pray for a group of people who had been joyfully waiting for his arrival.
Finally, the light has reached Borno and there will be no more darkness. Hallelujah!
