The General Overseer, The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye has assured Nigerians that God is able to meet their needs but called on them to walk with God with a view to escaping avoidable and unnecessary hardship, calamities and danger.
Adeboye gave this admonition yesterday during the monthly thanksgiving service at the RCCG headquarters, The Throne of Grace, Ebute-Metta, Lagos.
The service was themed “El-Shaddai” meaning “The Almighty God” where he also offered prayer for orphans, widows, and widowers among others The revered clergy also interceded for the barren, the singles; male and female as well as those who look up to God for promotion.
In his message, which was backed by appropriate Bible references, the RCCG General Overseer posited that despite divergent challenges confronting the nation that make the future bleak, Nigerians can be at rest provided they believe and cleave to Him.
Adeboye said, “Breaking down the meaning of His name “El-Shaddai” into human language, the meaning describes God as a mother who just gave birth to babies. No matter the number of babies the mother gave birth to, she would have enough milk to breastfeed the babies. It is natural. The Name therefore portrays God as “All Sufficient God” Who has more than enough to take care of Nigerians who trust and repose their confidence in Him.”
He, however, premised the condition to benefit from the inexhaustible provisions of God on someone who has devoted his life to God and “walk before Him” in righteousness “all the days of his life” as He commanded Abraham.
Earlier, Pastor (Mrs) Folu Adeboye led a prayer session that God will touch the hearts of those in political position to rule with the fear of God and turn for good the economic fortunes of the country.
Pastor Folu Adeboye who explained that nothing is difficult for God, charged Christians to pray for God’s mercies upon the nation and for God to arrest every evil forces working against the country’s progress.
The occasion was also used to mark the 75th birthday of Mrs Adeboye as women and the youths of the church held special prayers and staged performances to celebrate her godly influences and virtues.
The Pastor, The Throne of Grace, Pastor Adebayo Adeyemo told Nigerians if they can trust God and live in His presence at all times, the pains they are experiencing now will soon be a thing of the past as every indication shows that President Tinubu has started on a good footing.
He called on Nigerians to be patient with the new government that inherited a depleted treasury.
