As part of her commitment to social intervention and impact, The Elevation Church has provided housing and financial support to 129 families displaced by the recent demolition exercise in Jakande, Lekki, Lagos. This effort brought hope and support to the families of The Elevation Church, many of whom reached out to the ministry for intervention at this critical time.
The Lagos State Government’s demolition initiative, aimed at recovering land for the Lagos-Calabar Highway project and promoting urban renewal, left several families in the Lekki Jakande axis without a home in April 2024.
The Elevation Church, according to a statement, moved by the urgent calls for assistance from its affected members, swiftly spearheaded a resettlement plan in partnership with SmallSmall, a tech housing start-up, to secure suitable housing in the Lekki Jakande axis.
The initiative was funded by generous donations from The Elevation Church members, leadership, and ministry stakeholders.
“During challenging times, the Church has a responsibility to extend support to our community. Supporting our membership and community in areas of economic, social, personal and spiritual growth will always be a priority to us as a Global ministry, thanks to the culture of generosity in our ecosystem,” remarked Godman Akinlabi, Global Lead Pastor of The Elevation Church.
