Senior Pastor and Founder of the Global Impact Church, Pastor Yemi Davids will be inaugurated and commissioned to lead the Lagos Chapter of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria.
According to a statement from the Christian body, the event will take place on Saturday, August 31 at the Covenant Centre, Orile, Lagos at 9am. It is expected to attract Pentecostals and Christians from other denominations including government functionaries and captains of industries.
According to the statement, he will be inaugurated along with the newly elected Vice Chairman, Rev Janet Onaolapo, General Overseer of the Abundant Life Bible Church and other executives of the body.
It added, “Davids’ inauguration will mark the beginning of a new dawn in the fellowship. This is following the successful tenures of 10 chairmen of the fellowship who served from 1986 to 2024.
“The first chairman was Rev Isaac Mpamaugo. He served between 1986 and 1990; Rev Wilson Badejo, 1990-1992; Pastor M. K Ogunbola 1992-1995; Pastor Paul Akapo 1995-1996 and Bishop Lawrence Osagie 1996-2000.”
Also, other Christian leaders who have led the fellowship include Bishop Lanre Obembe, 2002 – 2005; Pastor Wale Adefarasin, 2005-2008; Apostle Alex Bamgbola, 2008-2014; Bishop Sola Ore, 2014 to 2020 while Apostle Eyinnaya Okwuonu led the fellowship from 2020 to 2024.
“Pastor Davids was elected to succeed Apostle Eyinnaya by a 28-member electoral body in April. His election is described as a clean break from the past because of his credentials as belonging to the new breed of pastors with an avangardist view of life,” the statement disclosed.
Apart from being the founding pastor of Global Impact Church with headquarters at The Goodland, Ogudu, Lagos, he is the President of Global Impact Institute (GII).
He is a graduate of Urban and Regional Planning from Obafemi Awolowo University, Davids also founded the Living Word Campus Fellowship while at the OAU and had a reputation for fraternising with fathers of faith right from his time in school. He is thus seen as a bridge builder between the old generation and the new generation of pastors.
He became a Christian while at the Abeokuta Grammar School as a result of his interaction with the Scripture Union Movement. It was that experience he carried to the university and had so far become a veritable instrument in the hands of God.
Yemi Davids is a known church apologist. He believes in the unity of the church and has at several fora advocated that the church speak with one voice. His love for the church is seen in his often willingness to honour invitations that draw participants from several denominations. He is a known resource person at leadership training fora both within and outside Nigeria.
He is a sought-after speaker and highly gifted in practical teachings in the area of Divine Wisdom for Life. He has a passion for leadership and hosts the Ministers and Leaders Forum (MLF) dedicated to leaders. He is a member of the Faculty of Daystar Leadership Academy Executive and also possesses an Advanced Diploma in Pastoral and Transformational Leadership, RILA.
Yemi Davids also holds a certificate from the Word of Faith Bible Institute [WOFBI] by Living Faith Church, Daystar Leadership Academy (DLA), Nigeria, Institute of Leadership & Management, United Kingdom, to mention but a few.
He is author of several books including the Be Great Daily Devotional, 7 Laws of Favour, In Pursuit of Academic Excellence, Etc.
He is married to Abimbola and has four wonderful daughters.
