The General Superintendent, Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor William Kumuyi has admonished Nigerians to cultivate the habit of giving thanks to God for His goodness, irrespective of the situation they find themselves in. The cleric added that by doing this, doors of solution to problems and great opportunities will be opened.
The revered international evangelist gave the admonition on Sunday, August 13, 2023 at the 50th anniversary service at the Church headquarters in Gbagada, Lagos.
The Deeper Christian Life Ministry was founded in 1973 and in 2023, the church clocks 50 years of propagating the undiluted Word of God.
Themed “50th years of God’s faithfulness,” participants at the colourful celebration included missionaries from across the world, leaders of other ministries and churches.
Church leaders across Africa present at worship service mounted the pulpit to celebrate and thank God for His servant, Kumuyi, for his unwavering commitment and unrivalled devotion in declaring the whole teachings of the whole scriptures even at the risk of rejection and persecution.
Representatives of various sections of the Ministry: children, youth, young adults, young professionals, adults took turns to thank the unassuming Christian leader and Bible teacher whose weekly expository Bible teachings have brought and are still bringing transformation to people and families globally.
In his anniversary message titled “Marching forward with fresh vision into the future destiny,” Kumuyi assured that as Joshua was encouraged not to be afraid after taking over leadership from his predecessor, Moses but moved forward boldly, so the Church will be marching forward without getting tired.
Kumuyi said, “We thank God for the uniqueness of Deeper Life as a Bible Church that has stood for holiness without shifting ground despite every challenge that would have made us to compromise.
“We give glory to God for upholding us and we are resolute and believe that the good Lord who has upheld us for fifty years would continue to keep us standing.”
Kumuyi gave a charge to pastors and members to keep on standing for holiness and all the biblical doctrines which include salvation, sanctification and Holy Ghost baptism among others.
At the eventful activities, a comprehensive study Bible was disclosed to the members and worshippers. Kumuyi enjoined everyone to purchase a copy for their edification.
The publication of the Study Bible was a result of a partnership between the two institutions as information obtained from the video clip indicated where Pastor Kumuyi and General Secretary/CEO, Bible Society of Nigeria, Pastor Samuel Sanusi jointly presented the Study Bible.
Goodwill messages were also delivered globally by members of the Ministry through their leaders and other Christian leaders.
Speaking, the President, International Clergy Association Incorporated, Bishop Charles said, “I wish to congratulate the Deeper Christian Life Ministry on attaining 50 years, and her Founder and General Superintendent, Pastor (Dr) W.F. Kumuyi for his unbroken service to the body of Christ.
“Let us take this precious moment to thank our Father in Heaven for the grace He has bestowed on the Ministry as we celebrate this important milestone. It is our earnest prayer that God continues to expand the Ministry, and bless Pastor Kumuyi with many more years of fruitful and rewarding service.
From Oceania, members through their leader, Pastor Segun Adelana remarked, “Our hearts are filled with praise to God as the Deeper Christian Life Ministry marks its 50th anniversary. Under the able leadership of our father in the Lord, Pastor (Dr) W.F. Kumuyi. The Ministry has made a significant impact in winning souls to Christ all around the globe as well as maturing saints and developing leaders for profitable service in God’s kingdom.
“In the last five decades, we have witnessed God’s unwaning power in the ministry of Pastor Kumuyi as he preaches the undiluted Word of God with signs and wonders following, and that through various means and gospel campaigns – village outreaches, city-wide crusade, africa-wide crusade and now, Global Crusade with Kumuyi (GCK).
“As we reflect over the 50 years of the Ministry, we cannot but thank the Lord for diverse testimonies of salvation and transformation of lives, deliverance and healings, raising of the dead, and many more.
“As we look forward, the church in the Oceania trusts God for years of greater fruitfulness, impact and increase in all aspect in Jesus’ name. It is our earnest prayers that the Lord who has brought our father in the Lord this far, will strengthen him to finish strong and well. May the grace and power of our Lord Jesus Christ never depart from you. Amen. Happy 50th anniversary.”
Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Asia, through Pastor Simeon Oyedokun said, “We, members of the Deeper Life family in Asia, wish to celebrate and felicitate with our father in the Lord, the unique apostle of our time, on the Golden Jubilee of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry.
“Dearly beloved Pastor Kumuyi, it is noteworthy that for the past 50 years, God has endowed you with Spirit-given vision, acumen, matchless grace and apostolic gifts. This is evident in the global reach to various categories of people in the society which include children, youths, college students, and young graduates. Your ministry has inspired godliness among women and members of the privileged class. Young professionals have been equipped with success tools and the rank and file of the armed forces have been fortified with kingdom righteousness. Your exception gifts have elevated music and drama as veritable tools for world evangelism.”
They prayed that God would continue to strengthen and enlarge his coast, lengthen his days and fulfill his desire of seeing the entire Deeper Life family in heaven.
Speaking on behalf of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry members in Nigeria, Pastor Samuel Omajali, gave glory to the Lord for His unfailing love and faithfulness towards the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, which commenced on 3rd August, 1973 with 15 people at Flat 7, Faculty of Education Campus, University of Lagos, Akoka, Yaba, Lagos.
“Sir, your undying commitment and steadfast resolve to, not only stand on, but fearlessly declare the undiluted message of holiness and righteousness despite the world’s aversion has distinguished the Deeper Life as a true Church of the living God.
“The Church in Nigeria is also very grateful unto God who has given us a selfless leader, a loving shepherd, a studious Bible teacher, and a resilient soldier of the cross, our Pastor and mentor. We are the fruits and evidence of your labour of love. May the good Lord help the Deeper Christian Life Ministry to continue fulfilling the purpose for which it was established in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.”
Members in Africa, represented by Pastor Etey Bénissan Datévi, were grateful to God “who has steered the Deeper Christian Life Ministry under the leadership of Pastor William Kumuyi for the past 50 years. What started as a gathering of 15 people with a compelling passion for the truth, holiness and souls, has grown into a dynamic Ministry with its presence in about 150 countries worldwide.”
