Healing is for the sick and feeble. God, in his infinite mercy, does not want you to live your life afflicted by any ailment or disease.“I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.” 3 John 1:2. From this scripture, we clearly see that God wants you to be in good health and also enjoy divine health.
Divine healing is God’s intervention in your health challenges, restoring you into good health condition. Divine healing, contrary to the perception of most Christians, is not a one-off thing. It is a process and gradual restoration of good and perfect health to the individual.
On the other hand, divine health is a gift from God to His children. Divine health assures us of protection from all health challenges. Those who enjoy divine health, in spite of whatever pandemic that may be ravaging around them, are immune and protected from such disease. The children of Israel in the land of Egypt are a classic example. Even though they dweltin Egypt, the ravaging diseases that werebedevilling theEgyptiansdid not affect them.
“If you listen carefully to the Lord, favour God and do what is right in His ways, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, who heals you,” Exodus 15:26.
How to enjoy divine healing
For anyone to enjoy divine health, he must first of all be a beneficiary of divine healing. You cannot be down with ailment and claim divine health, divine healing must come first. To therefore enjoy divine healing, you must desist from sinful acts.The window of divine healing is closed to those who wallow in sin.
To enjoy divine healing, you have to repent and totally forsake all your sins. “What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase?” Romans 6:1; it is impossible. God frowns at sin, He does not take His eyes to behold sin. And being the Jehovah Rapha Himself, He is ready to perform His healing on you so far you repent from your sin. “And the Lord will strike Egypt, striking and healing, and they will return to the Lord, and He will listen to their pleads for mercy and heal them,” Isaiah 19:22.
The next step to have access to divine healing is to tell God through prayers. In 1 Kings 20, King Hezekiah was sick to the point of death. The last thing on his mind was death because of his relationship with God, however, God had a message for him through prophet Isaiah.He was told to prepare to die as he would not survive the sickness. However, the King in chapter 20:3 poured his heart to God in prayers, “Remember now; O Lord, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a whole heart, and have done what is good in thy sight.” Prophet Isaiah was still stepping out of the palace when God instructed him to tell the ailing king that he would be healed and enjoy divine health for another 15 years.
You must have it at the back of your mind that divine healing is a prerogative of God to dispense to those He wishes. You are however qualified if you can forsake your sins and also approach Him in the place of prayers.
Divine health
While the sick, feeble and those suffering from one sickness or the other may crave for divine healing, divine health on the other hand is a perfection of all healing process and continual protection from all manner and forms of sicknesses. Enjoying divine health means you are immune to all sicknesses in whatever form. God gave the Israelites this assurance and the same assurance is still valid till today. For those that enjoy divine health, sickness is strange and uncomfortable around them. They go about their daily lives without harbouring any fear of sickness. You can be among this category of people; there is a space for you.
The first thing that is required of you to qualify as a candidate for divine health is to serve God. This is a condition He gave in Exodus 23:25, “You must serve only the Lord your God. If you do, I will bless you with food and water, and I will protect you from illness.”
You must also stick to the commandments of God to have access to divine health. “If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully keep all his commands that I am giving you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all nations of the world. You will experience all these blessings if you obey the Lord your God.”Deuteronomy 28:1
You must realise that going to the hospital sick and coming out healed does not guarantee that you will not be admitted to the hospital again. Those who benefited from divine healing are not guaranteed of not falling sick again. Most especially if they continue to dwell in sin. “Then it goes and brings with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and make their home there. And the last condition of that man becomes worse than the first.” Matthew 12:25.
However, with divine health, you are covered and assured of protection from all kinds of sicknesses. That is what you get when you are insured with divine health.
