Pastor E. A. Adeboye taking salute

In a startling revelation, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor E. A. Adeboye recounted how his earlier ambition to be part of a paramilitary agency resulted in a significant personal loss.

In his recollection, the octogenarian described a past incident where he was lured into a situation with the promise of an esteemed position, only to discover that he had been deceived.

Pastor Adeboye explained that the individual who deceived him presented himself as a recruiter for a newly established paramilitary agency, persuading the clergyman to invest in the venture with the promise of securing a leadership position.

Daddy G.O, in a recent message, titled, “Don’t Try to Outrun God” in the Open Heavens devotional posted on his X handle, disclosed that his earlier fascination with the military beclouded his judgment, resulting in a lapse in judgment that ultimately led him to place his trust in a deceptive individual.

Admitting to his eagerness to fulfill this paramilitary role, the clergyman expressed remorse over his hasty decision and the ensuing personal loss.

He narrated, “Years ago, I was duped by a man who promised to make me a commandant of a paramilitary group. This man had been sending messages to me through my secretary for a while, and so, one day, I gave him an audience. He explained to me how a Boy-Scouts-like group had evolved into this new agency, and that he was sourcing for who would lead the group spiritually.

“Normally, I do ask God before getting involved in anything at all, but this time, my love for the military in my younger days beclouded my best instincts, and I agreed to be their head. He told me that they needed some funding, which I gave as the prospective head. However, I later found out that the man was a fake.”

Despite the setback, Pastor Enoch Adeboye noted that this experience served as a catalyst for the creation of the Redemption City corps and the establishment of a local police post.

“My desire to be part of a paramilitary group made me run ahead of God, but God had already purposed for Redemption City to have its own corps of chaplains as well as a local Police post,” the man of God stated.
