The General Overseer, The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye has rested the hearts of the troubled that only God has the sovereignty to do the extraordinary and the supernatural that past finding out.
Daddy G. O charged the congregation and Nigerians by extension to trust God for uncommon miracles in economic hard times.
The revered cleric made these public at the monthly Thanksgiving Service for the month of September 2023 at the RCCG national headquarters, the Throne of Grace Parish, Ebute-Metta, Oyingbo, Lagos.
Titled “Uncommon Miracles,” the international evangelist also used the medium to pray for fathers, mothers, widows, widowers among others.
The RCCG General Overseer acknowledged that though there are laws and policies being put in place by various governments of a country before some things can take place, but when it comes to uncommon miracles, God has the prerogative to defy such laws and make things happen.
Adeboye posited: “Law of gravity does not hinder God from making things to happen and when God wants to bless, no matter the policy put in place to determine such blessings, God has the capability to skip such policies. These are the advantages those who trust the Lord enjoy.”
Speaking on the value of naira to dollar when he newly became the GO of the church, Adeboye said the Nigerian currency had more value than the dolar.
“The days when Naira will be stronger will come back; those glorious days will return when that happens you will know,” Adeboye said.
He reiterated the statement when he noticed the congregation was not convinced, adding that the members would believe when the glorious days return.
“Oh! I know you don’t believe me. If the Lord I serve is still on the throne, those glorious days will return.”
“Maybe when that happens, you will know that there is a God of miracles,” he added.
In the black market, dollar is currently being bought at N915, while being sold at N918.
Naira currently exchanges at N740.38 in the official window as Nigerians grapple with economic downtown, as fuel subsidy removal is having its toll on the country.
However, the church used the thanksgiving service to carry some Christian Social Responsibility (CSR) to the needy in church and members of the public that thronged the church premises. Food stuffs, cloths and exercise books for pupils and students were freely distributed to those who needed them.
Commenting on the CSR of the church, the Special Assistant to the General Overseer (Admin) and Pastor in charge of Region One, Dele Balogun said the RCCG, Throne of Grace carries out the CSR monthly because the Church is aware that there is hardship in the land as he calls on other churches to come to the aid of the needy in the church and those who are outside the church.
Balogun said: “We have made it a point of duty that anytime we have our service, especially the first Sunday, we usually invite people because we want to feed them. Last month, we distributed fuel to many people. We want to assist people because we all know what we are going through in the nation now. But we think the church has the responsibility to take care of the people. The welfare aspect of it is what we call Christian Social Responsibility.”
