One hundred job seekers have been empowered across LP 92 in order to help women across the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Lagos Province 92, Zone 3, Lekki, to take bold steps towards making a living and supporting their families, as against being a burden to their spouses, the church and their loved ones.
According to the wife of the Pastor-in-Charge of the Province, Pastor (Mrs) Folashade Omokorede, the Skill Acquisition programme was not just to teach the women skills and release them, but to equip them on how to start, run, manage and sustain a business with their acquired skills.
To achieve this goal, a special thirteen women team created by Pastor (Mrs) Omokorede identified Women Empowerment across the Province as a potent and an important tool; this led to the conception and birthing of this laudable initiative where skills in agriculture, catering, soap making, tie and die and Ankara derivatives were taught by seasoned facilitators during the Skill Empowerment programme.

The programme was designed to run in two sessions, the theoretical and the practical. The former involved seasoned facilitators and experts with good reputation while the latter involved hands-on practical skill learning time for all participants.
This show of love to humanity was rounded off with a graduation ceremony which coincided with a special programme at the provincial headquarters, Goshen Church, tagged “Super Sunday”. It had in attendance the Pastor-in-Charge of Region 19 and Intercontinental Missions Coordinator, Pastor Brown Oyitso, as guest minister.
Pastor Oyitso prayed for the graduands and launched them into the business space for success. The Pastor-in-Charge of the Province, Pastor Ade Omokorede, Senior Pastors in the province, the thirteen-woman team created for the skill acquisition programme across the province led by Deaconess Bukola Ogunleye, were all in attendance at the grand finale.

Similarly, the Assistant Pastor-in-Charge of Christian Social Responsibility (CSR) of the Province, Pastor Nyanyelugo Edochie, who represented the Pastor-in-Charge of Lagos Province 92, Pastor Ade Omokorede, presented six hundred pieces of 40 leaves exercise books, six hundred pieces of 60 leaves, eight packs of biros, thirty-six rulers, four hundred erasers and four packs of twelve units of Mathematical sets to the School Management of Expressway Primary School in Lekki in Ikosi/Ketu, Kosofe Local Government Area of Lagos State.
Pastor Ade Omokorede stated that the mandate by the General Overseer of the mission, Pastor E.A Adeboye, in touching lives in our immediate environment where RCCG is located prompted the gesture.
Pastor Nnanyelugo Edochie prayed with the school management and pupils as he used Mathew 5:16 to explain that the good works showed to the school was to glorify God in their lives as Light to the world.
During his vote of thanks, the Head Teacher of the school, Mr. Ajiboye A.O, thanked the Church for the gifts and prayed that God will continue to increase the Church abundantly.
