Asides from Mother’s Day, another special day to mark on your calendar is the birthday of the most special woman in your life – your mummy! On her birthday, be sure that you make her feel extra special by sending her a lovely birthday wish and a gift.
On July 13th, 2022, Pastor (Mrs.) Adenike Foluke Adeboye, fondly called Mummy G. O. (MGO), will clock 74 years old. Her love of 54 years, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor E. A. Adeboye, just like during his 80th birthday where Mummy G.O sent him sweet and endearing birthday wishes, will be among those sending pleasantries to our Mother-In-Israel.
Birthdays are rare days. One of the things associated with this day is the presentation of gifts. Three wise men: Garspar brought Frankincense to Jesus, Melchior brought Gold, while Balthazar brought Myrrh as gift to Jesus. These three kings of Sheba, Arabia and Egypt celebrated with Jesus on his special day.
Special recall of Jesus’ birth was affirmed through Isaiah 9:6, that “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be upon his shoulders, and he will be called: Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
Pastor (Mrs.) Foluke Adeboye’s legacy of peaceful co-existence cannot be undermined. She has become a royal Princess to the King by daily praying and calling mothers, prayer champions to seek and fight for peace. Her voice is a springboard, heard all over the world. Truly, she is a mother of Peace.
Another rare gift of our Lord Jesus Christ is Compassion. Pastor (Mrs.) Adeboye’s life of compassion cannot be fathomed nor can it be weighed. This was attested to by her hubby during one of his teachings with the ministers of the Church. He told them that his spouse could give her last to please others.
“We were to have as dinner the last tuber of yam in our home and somebody knocked on our house door that they were in need of food and my wife gave the woman and her children our last tuber of yam. What a woman!” Daddy Adeboye explained.
Many testimonies abound in the Redemption Camp, Mowe in Ogun State, that endear the Mother-In-Israel to many. She has built various houses for her workers. She has also purchased cars for individuals and corporate organizations, and donated generously to motherless homes without making any noise. She will even tell the beneficiaries never to tell anybody. What a great humility!
Her candour at goodness can be attested to by those she has employed, who later through her giving, gave their lives to Christ. It is on record that nobody can come to the home of the Adeboye’s and go home empty. There is always a special gift, a meal for all.
Most times, bags of rice are distributed to every worker on Redemption Camp during special days. Days like Easter, Daddy G. O’s Birthday, Convention, Congresses, are marked with donations of thousands of bundles of clothes to millions across the world.
Her love for missionaries across the globe is another point clearly unspoken of. Many missionaries through the Africa Missions and the Central Missions Board (CMB), two impactful change agents established by her, have experienced glorifying turnaround. Just like the bible talks about the dreamlike miracles in Psalms 126:1-3, it was therefore another overflowing river of joy, flowing for the missionaries. They have seen more gifts than ever before from the Mother-In-Israel. Gifts like buses, drilling of boreholes, building of schools, homes for the motherless, donation of millions to IDP camps, scholarships of various levels and a lasting relationship from a true mother.
Another of Jesus’ attribute is in the area of Prayer. Pastor (Mrs.) Folu Adeboye is a Prayer Champion. At every forum, she moves and leads other wives of General Overseers, especially in her annual Feast of Esther gathering to pray for denominations and to chart the oneness associated with Christ in Prayers. Her love for prayers has turned around nations, built bridges, settled homes, delivered the oppressed, set captives free and built a comity of nations.
Nations can testify of how her prayers work wonders. Her monthly prayer requests to God during Holy Ghost services in the Redeemed Christian Church of God programmes can be eternally blissful and overflowingly loaded with testimonies.
Just like Jesus Christ told his disciples not to hinder children from coming to Him, Pastor (Mrs.) Folu Adeboye is a lover of children. Through her gorgeous insight, the children department of the RCCG was given birth to. She built the Emmanuel Park for children at the Redemption Camp for recreational activities. Through her, the Christ the Redeemer’s Ministries (CRSM) were set up all over Nigeria where children can go to school. Her love for children is generally regarded as the undying love that a mother has for her children.
Irrespective of these great attributes likened to our Lord Jesus Christ, MGO is a strong tower in her home. She loves her home dearly, especially her love, Pastor E.A Adeboye. During her 72nd birthday, Pastor Adeboye wrote, “Today is my wife’s birthday and there are lessons that women, especially so many young brides can learn from her. She is a powerful woman, I know that. She has many people who take instructions from her, but as powerful as she is, and even though she has seen me in my weakest moments, I have no doubt that I am her head.”
“Thank you very much @pastorfoluadeboye. That Bible and handkerchief you wrapped as a birthday gift for me proved that you were beyond a Princess but a Queen in all ramifications. Thank you for always being there, my Schoolgirl.”
These few words from Pastor E. A. Adeboye are another captivating expression to the fact that Pastor (Mrs.) Foluke Adeboye is a rare gift to the world.
