The history of the success of Pentecostal evangelism in Nigeria is incomplete without the inclusion of the impact of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).
This month marks RCCG’s 70th anniversary. Founded in 1952 by Pa Josiah Akindayomi, it has continued to fulfill the prophecy of its worldwide growth and huge expansion. With the accession of the present General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, in the early 80s, the church has indeed been blossoming and flourishing like the proverbial tree planted by the riverside. That RCCG is a covenant church is not in doubt; the mighty testimonies of signs and wonders are evidences of the hand of God on the ministry.
RCCG has brought great revival across all classes of people with different ethnic and cultural backgrounds. It has also raised high the bar of respect for Christianity and Christian values.
