The Governing Council of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has decided to create additional 40 Provinces and 8 Regions as it also approved the ordination of 15,450 members into various ministerial offices.
The General Overseer of the church, Pastor E. A. Adeboye revealed this at the end of the Church ministers’ conference held the Redemption City.
Earlier, the church had presented plagues and monetary gifts as recognition of longtime service awards to pastors and staff in the church who have served the mission meritoriously for 40years, 35 years, 30 years, 25 years and 20 years respectively.
In Adeboye’s word, “I want to congratulate those of you who got awards; I pray that the Almighty God will continue to prosper you and that your awards will move you to a greater service in Almighty God.”
The categories of those for ordination include, 8,670 deacons/deaconesses, 4,623 assistant pastors and 2, 157 full pastors. This is in addition to 18 abroad based honorary elders who were skipped last year for ordination.
In the same vein the church announced the retirement of about 100 pastors and staff who have reached the retirement ages of 65 -70 years.
With the structural adjustment, the mission would be having, with effect from September, a total number of 446 Provinces and 59 Regions in Nigeria.
