The General Secretary of the Redeemed Christian Church of God Lagos Province 16 of The Redeemers’ Men’s Fellowship, Anchor 2024, Charles Okeibunor has hinted on the efforts of the fellowship to empower men to start small scale businesses to survive the economic crunch.
This, according to Okeibunor, includes dry cleaning business by buying them the essentials to run the business; transport business by buying small buses for them among others.
He spoke at the second edition of Redeemer’s Men’s Fellowship, Lagos recently. Code named ‘Anchor 2024,’ it had the theme, “Evidence of His Glory”.
Explaining the role of man in Nation building, he said, “We are trying to create empowerment for our people. We are also increasing conversations around real issues that affect men.”
Convener and Pastor-in-charge of Lagos Province 16, the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Biyi Famoyegun postulated that for believers’ life to be radiant and considered wholesome, four essential pillars namely family, finance, fitness and faith must be firmly rooted and stable.
He disclosed that the programme is based on assisting men to play their role in the family especially at this period of sufferings in the land. He disclosed that the programme as usual would empower men to lift them out of poverty and remove their names from the list of beggars occasioned by the economic situation in the nation,
He said, “God gave us the vision a year ago. God inspired us with a vision to gather men together every year for the purpose of sharing in His blessings as a natural group in the body of Christ. Last year, we had an incredible time of visitation during the maiden edition themed: “Still standing,” and in line with that promise, we are still standing by God’s grace today, despite all the challenges of our times.”
He added, “This is the second edition. Our four pillars include family, finance, fitness and faith.”
On his part, natural health practitioner Dr. Chris Williams stated that everybody can be sickness free but a lot of work in it must go into it.
According to him, man is on earth to maintain its sanity and “we should preserve it.”
