Launching of Dove FC

The Redeemed Christian Church of God has launched a football club named Dove FC in line with the church’s evangelism campaign to bring the youth out of criminality.

The General Overseer, Pastor E.A. Adeboye who unveiled the football club at the Redemption City of God, assured the players of many victories if they build a right relationship with God.

He went ahead to admonish the players, technical crew and officials of the club, to get closer to God and be prayerful, even as they work hard to achieve their goals. Adding that it is a fact that battle is not always for the swiftest, but for those favoured by God.

According to the GO, if the players are into football to serve God, heaven will be their limited, stressing that if they were truly dedicated to the service of God, the world would hear and celebrate them.

Adeboye stated that “Winning is by God’s divine and not by might. To be a winner, you must have God by your side.”

The players were selected from the six regions of the country and are between the ages of 16-21 with the aim of preparing them for a possible professional career.

Prince Dapo Ajibade, the chairman of Dove FC, also explained that the establishment of the team is for the church to break new grounds.

“By the special grace of God and with the support of the GO, Dove FC will expand to become the biggest brand in the world,” he said.

Meanwhile, this development has been seen as a delightful surprise, not only to the church’s members but also to sports enthusiasts, as it underlines the church’s dedication not only to matters of faith but also to community involvement and engagement.

It’s worth noting that RCCG is not the only church that has ventured into the world of sports. Several other churches, including the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), Christ Embassy Church, Living Faith Church Worldwide, and Deeper Life Bible Church, have established their own football clubs. These clubs serve as more than just sporting entities; they act as platforms to connect with communities and nurture young talents.
