The Redeemer’s College of Technology and Management (RECTEM) has admitted 326 new students into its National Diplopma courses which have been approved by relevant education body.
The Polytechnic also restated commitment to raise “champions” who will contribute to national economic development.
The Rector, RECTEM, Dr. Stella Mofunaya made the disclosure on Tuesday while delivering her speech at the 5th matriculation ceremony in Mowe, Ogun State.
She said, “This occasion of 5th Matriculation Ceremony is important to us all as it marks the official enrolment of the matriculating freshmen into the College academic program and in line with the criteria of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE).
“At this Matriculation ceremony today, the College will formally admit 326 students into various programmes approved by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). I congratulate the selected few who are among the lucky ones to be admitted to this great institution.
Adjudged as one of the fastest growing private Polytechnic by NBTE, Mofunaya stressed strict adherence to rules of engagement, urging the freshers to maintain high moral and academic standard the private polytechnic is known for, adding that the management of the institution would not hesitate to discipline any erring student as she announced that the school has “zero tolerance” for any form of indiscipline act within its campus.
“This College has zero tolerance for cultism and any form of hooliganism, corrupt practices and other vices. You are therefore advised not to take laws into your hands. Any violation of rules and regulations will not go unpunished.
“The College will not award its Diploma certificate to students who are found wanting in character and learning. I need to further advise you to show respect to your colleagues, all staff and the Governing authorities in the College to make your stay fruitful and productive,” she stated emphatically.
She added, “We implore you, to obey the rules and regulations which have been put in place for your optimal development. I trust God to use this Polytechnic to nurture your growth and development in all facets of life.
