How do you shine with eternal relevance?

In order to shine eternally as a king and a priest in the kingdom of God (Revelation 1:6, 5:10), you need to live according to the precepts and standards of the kingdom of God as clearly stated in His word. For example, Paul, in his epistle to the Colossians, as he always did in his many writings to the churches, itemizes certain necessary requirements for a life of glory that will shine enduringly (Colossians 3:12-17).

These requirements include:

1.Be born again: Surrender your life to Jesus and abide in Him. Given the position of the scriptures and our discussion, it is quite obvious that to shine eternally with relevance is not a herculean task, once you give your life to Jesus Christ and you are firmly rooted in Him, being totally obedient to His word. Understand that you are the elect and beloved of Jesus Christ and must always please Him. (John 17:7)

      2. Be holy: God shines in glory in His holiness, and that is what is expected of us as His children. (1 Peter 1:15-16)

      3. Be humble and meek: You should be humble, living in all humility. You ought to always remember that you are whatever you are by the grace of God and there is nothing you achieve without the grace of God. Hence, the grace of God must be earnestly desired in abundance, for a life of excellence that will make one shine in the world. You shine by grace. (1 Corinthians 4:7, 15:10, 1 Peter 5:5-6)

      4. Discover the purpose of God for you and run with it: You should be a student of God’s word, live in obedience to the word of God and always do what the word says. (Deuteronomy 28:1-2, Joshua 1:8)

The power to shine is in obedience to the word of God. Be led by the Spirit of God, living according to His word. That is when you show that you love Him and you are treated as His child (John 14:15, Romans 8:14)

      5. Be patient and persevering: Hardships, challenges and tribulations should not be seen as strange happenings or occurrences in the life of the one who is set to shine. Trials and temptations are necessary preparatory ingredients for a life of glory. Test normally precedes promotion. (James 1:2-4)

      6. Get wisdom: Yes, wisdom is the principal thing (Proverbs 4:7)! Apart from the Lord Jesus Christ Himself, no other man has shone like King Solomon on earth. He excelled in knowledge, wisdom and understanding with unparalleled riches, uncommon wealth, peace and tranquility. Yet all or, rather, the only thing that he asked God to give him was wisdom. (2 Chronicles 9:22-23, Proverbs 4:7, James 1:5)

      7. Willingness and readiness to pay the price: This requires diligence and hardwork. Laziness and slothfulness will always make your light dull and cover your star with darkness or dark shades and clouds. (Proverbs 22:29)

Those who shine are normally given to hardwork. They make it a habit to sleep sparingly and not indulgently. They are watchful and alert, knowing that the enemy does his work commonly under the cover of darkness, while men sleep. That is when he sows tares and thorns in the field of the undiscerning man that sleeps too much. Guard your life and your heart with all diligence (Matthew 13:24-28, Proverbs 24:30-34).

So, I charge you, it is time to wake up and arise from your slumber! (Romans 13;12, Ephesians 5:14-16). Work now while it is still day because the night comes when no man can work (John 9:4). Then it will be too late. Be wise!

I pray that you will ask the Lord for that singular thing that will make you to experience all-round transformation that will cause your life to shine without comparison in all ages in Jesus name. May you not be unwilling to do or give that one thing that will change your story for good in all eternity in Jesus name.
