Text: Matthew 15:8-9, Jeremiah 29:13-14

“This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; But their heart is far from me. But in vain they do worship me, Teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.”

“And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. And I will be found of you, saith the LORD: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the LORD; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive.”

You are warmly welcome to another day of refreshing insight into the bread of life, the ultimate sustainer of life. This day, according to John 1:4, God will illuminate your path with the light of His word. The glorious life intentionally packaged in this light will make your life enviable, and your path in life and destiny will generously feature divine fatness in Jesus name. AMEN.

It is no longer a secret that many go to church for equally different reasons. But if the building is not the church and it takes divine encounter to access salvation, whoever goes to a church building without going to Christ, has wasted his time.

In our first Bible passage above, Jesus, speaking to some people and by extension to us today, said, some people drew near him with their mouths but their hearts were far from him. Are you one of such fellows? How?

A. When a man goes to church and does not have a personal Bible and materials to document inspirations and revelations, he is a church goer.

B. When you see a man who goes to church and tends to lose focus on spirituality but is only concerned with carnality, that is a church goer.

C. A church goer complains, complains and complains all day in church and does not have time to encounter Jesus either in His word or through other avenues.

D. A church goer is busy looking for what to take, collect or confiscate rather than asking what can I do, contribute or join others to do. Be careful not to be a church building goer.

E. A church goer goes to church building for social connection and not to Christ for spiritual rejuvenation. May you not be a mere church goer.

F. The church goer does not attract a blessing from the master because he does not belong to Him! May God have mercy on such fellows today.

The God seeker is very easy to know wherever you meet such fellow. A longtime ago, when Jesus mercifully found and saved my soul, my approach to spiritual things changed and everybody around me knew something had happened to this fellow.

A. A God seeker is always hungry for more of God, whether in church or not.

B. A God seeker will regularly ask, ‘what can I do to appreciate the one who died to get me saved?’. Therefore, he goes around as a mobile signboard for Jesus. People often ask him, ‘are you a Christian?’ as a way of confirmation, considering his dignified disposition and carriage.

C. God seekers are very quick to take correction and repent from their errors. They are not given to justifying their errors.

D. Finally, God seekers are heaven-conscious and are living in anticipation of a soon coming glory untold. They forgive quickly and are very happy people, rather than being perpetually moody. Because there is fullness of joy in God’s presence.

Beloved, stop serving God with your lips but release your totality to divinity in order to manifest your full potentiality.

Renounce your sins, accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour with the totality of your heart NOW, if you have not done so.
