We see clearly from this scripture that seasons come as the Lord has foreordained. It is incumbent upon man therefore to walk and work according to the seasons of God. More importantly, it is pertinent that we recognize that God controls times and seasons.
- Every season is according to its time: This is evident in the foregoing scripture.
- Seasons have their purpose: the all-knowing, all-wise God has a purpose for everything He does and for the seasons He has ordained. Ecclesiastes 3:1
- One season precedes another: It is natural for one season to give way or lead to another, as the Lord has decreed it. In effect, God changes the seasons. Daniel 2:21
- No season is permanent: Seasonal changes are to be expected as there is no permanent season anywhere on earth, though their duration and inception may sometimes be suspended or changed by divine interventions like Elijah did in 1 Kings 17:1, 18:1,41-45. We must always look up to God who controls and changes times and seasons.
- Seasonal changes are preceded by weather and atmospheric changes: It is therefore good to be observant and discerning to recognize when the Lord has set in motion a change of season. (See verse 44 in the foregoing scripture). Wise children of God, particularly ministers in His vineyard, should not be devoid of discernment and understanding of the times and seasons and the changes in them. We should see clearly. (John 9:39-41).
- Seasons often have prophetic/spiritual implications: considering the times and seasons of His days, Jesus Christ was greatly touched that the people lacked discernment in His days and were like people whose eyes were shut.
- God does not change, irrespective of seasonal changes: His faithfulness and love are from everlasting to everlasting. (Malachi 3:6, Hebrews 13:8)
- Every season commands its peculiar adaptation: We should therefore always look unto Jesus as the Lord, our Guide, and the Author and Finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). We should never shift our gaze from Him. Never should we be afraid or be moved by the storms, the boisterous winds, or the rampaging sea waves. His power is above all, and the wind and the sea always obey His word – “Peace! Be still.” (Mark 4:39)
Whatever season of life you may be and whatever the challenges you are facing, I decree in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, the Almighty Storm-Stiller: Peace, be still! Peace be unto you now, in the mighty name of Jesus. It is done. You are free in Jesus name.
Your Turn Is Your Set Time
There is a set time for God’s favour. Your set time for God’s favour comes when it is your turn, and this is when you are positioned for divine attention. The word of God further asserts that “…they that know their God shall be strong and do exploits” – Daniel 11:32. In other words, all that the wise and knowledgeable child of God needs do is to know and position himself or herself in the will and programme of God.
The truth is that there is orderliness, perfect timing and programming in heaven. God works according to His divine agenda (Revelations 4:1-11). This is the reason it is shown in God’s word, for example, that it should normally first be the turn of the firstborn to be blessed by the father before the second and other children (Genesis 48:14, 17-20)
It is wisdom to walk in favour with God and do His will so that your turn will not be given to someone else. May you always walk steadfastly with the Lord, pleasing Him in all you do and enjoying His favour in Jesus’s name. I decree that it is your turn to be favoured, and you will experience marvellous favour for an uncommon turnaround this season in Jesus’ name.
It is important to have an understanding of the times. Indeed, it is wisdom to have this understanding because it puts one effectively in charge, and to exercise dominion as the Lord has purposed. The sons of Issachar were reputed for this and it is for our learning to whom the fulfilment of the age has come. (1 Chronicles 12:32, 10:11).
Important Clarification
Your turn is simply your set time for service to God, or the appointed time for favourable divine intervention concerning you, your life, situation or ministry. Service to God in both the Old and the New Testament was not done haphazardly but in order, even as it is done in heaven. The Bible corroborates this position very well. For example, it was the turn of Zacharias for service in the temple when he was visited by Angel Gabriel who brought the news to him that his wife, Elizabeth, would conceive and gave birth to a son. This prophecy heralded the coming of John the Baptist, who was later described by Jesus Christ as being greater than any man born of a woman before him (Matthew 11:11). May it be your turn to experience divine attention and visitation this very time as shown in the following Bible narrative in Jesus name. Luke 1:5-14
