The impulse of the transition of Pa William Olorunfemi Adeduro was strongly felt in Odo-Ayo community and its environs in Ondo state when the wife and children of the late octogenarian gathered with friends for a befitting farewell burial ceremony.
In his message, Rev. O. V. Akintaju of the Cathedral Church of St. Stephen, Oke Aluko, extolled Pa Adeduro’s virtues of humility, submission and devotion.
He said, “Baba Adeduro did not have to be educated before he knew Christ or lived as a humble person; he is indeed a heavenly gain”.
The cleric therefore enjoined the congregation to live a fulfilled life in Christ in order to inherit the kingdom of God.
During the wake keep service conducted by the church, two of the deceased’s children, Otunba Segun Adeduro and Otunba Niyi Adeduro, spoke about how their great father lived a great life in Christ and happily died in Christ.
Earlier, at the service of songs conducted at the Redeemed Christian Church of God Royal Diadem in Lagos Province 76, Pa Adeduro, in a testimonial, was described as a father who loved all people and was noted for a prayerful lifestyle.
In his exhortation, National Coordinator of RCCG Redeemer’s Men Fellowship, Pastor Remi Oluboba, acknowledged the exemplary virtues of Pa Adeduro for being resilient, purposeful and optimistic during his lifetime.
Oluboba who took his Bible text from Hebrews 9:27 said life is a journey that starts with birth and ends with death. He therefore urged the congregation to learn not to give room to limitation in life but be intentional towards making positive impact.
He said: “As we celebrate the life of Pa Adeduro tonight, I discover, for example, that where you came from does not determine your destiny. He was intentional about the race of life; he knew where he was going and was focused. He refused to be shackled by limitation. Several years ago, he had the vision that he would be in America and for the last 20 years of his life, he was there. He could see it and that was why he could have it.”
The cleric told the congregation that making it to heaven as well as leading others in that direction should become their priority as being testified to the life of Pa Adeduro.
According to Oluboba, children of God ought to live right so as to be able to leave behind a worthy legacy.
Pastor Bolaji Adeduro, the second child of the deceased, who read the second Bible lesson, is the Senior Pastor of RCCG Victory City, Hollywood, California in USA.
In his vote of thanks, first child of the deceased, who is also the Pastor-in-charge of RCCG Lagos Province 76, Pastor Wale Adeduro, on behalf of the Adeduro family expressed appreciation to all pastors, ministers, friends and the entire church congregation for joining them to celebrate the life of their departed loving father.
Pa Adeduro died in the United States of America on Monday, June 26, 2023, at the age of 86 and was laid to rest at his residence in Odo-Ayo, Ondo State.
