Mordecai Provided Great Servant-Leadership
The seed of leadership was in him and he didn’t forget his people even after his elevation. Esther 10:3
He sought the wealth of his people and he was caring. Good leadership will always care for the followers and not lord it over them. Matthew 15:32
Are you concerned about your followers? Do you care for them? Even Jesus that was greater than Mordecai, showed great servant-leadership. Most of the things Jesus did were out of compassion. Luke 7:13-14.
Servant-leadership is based on compassion for the people you are leading. The great attributes of a leader are compassion and feelings for the people. Like Jesus, we should be merciful. Matthew 9:36
This is the kind of leadership that the world yearns for. What we see most times are rulers and dictators, and not leaders.
Mordecai recovered his destiny
He was created to be a prime minister. The devil wanted to truncate his destiny by bringing captivity his way, but the Lord stepped in. We should never give up. When there is life, there is hope. It is never too late for God. Jon 14:7-9
Never give up hope. If you have God, you have hope. As long as you are living and you have breath, God will turn that situation around. Micah 7:8
You will rise again and the light of God will shine upon everything that concerns you. God turned around the situation of Mordecai. He will do the same for you if you trust Him.
If you have not surrendered your life to Jesus Christ, you need Jesus to start afresh. The solution you need is to hand your life to Jesus Christ and He will turn your situation around. As you surrender your life to Him today, all the storms of your life will stand still. If you reject His call, He will not be able to help you. Come unto Him today because God does not want you to die in that ugly situation.
Mordecai’s Life Lesson
Mordecai was a man strong in faith and unwavering in his convictions about God. He was also compassionate towards Esther and took care of her in times of need. Mordecai lived out his faith by his actions and was not afraid to place his trust 100% in God.
Mordecai mentored Esther and eventually taught her to boldly stand in defence of the Jewish nation explaining that God may have placed her as queen for the specific purpose of saving the Jews.
Take a minute and think of your positions of influence. Are you a Father or Mother, Child, Teacher, Pastor, CEO or an Accountant? Where can you make a difference in the lives of those around you or the less privileged? Is God calling you to step out in faith to relieve people’s suffering or to help someone in their journey heavenward and even to stand firm on earth. Note that God might have placed you in your current position for such a time as this, to bring others a glimpse of God’s love and mercy while leading with a simple heart and strong will to see the people of the land enjoy the goodness of good leadership. Always remember that a good leader’s words will bring light and life. Psalm 78:7
A leader must always see the finger of God in their leadership selection and agree that it is only God that establishes leadership. Jeremiah 1:5
It is imperative that good leaders protect themselves from corruption. In the scripture, we are enjoined to guard our heart, which is our emotional, intellectual and moral centre, with all diligence so we can lead people under us rightly without corruption. Proverbs 4:23
As such, a leader with a guided heart and intellect will know how important it is to deal with people under them with justice, mercy and humility. This golden rule is not particular to Christianity alone but Jesus adds a new topping to the way this rule is being expressed in the world. Instead of it to be a rebuke, do not do to others what you do not want them to do to you, Jesus implored and admonished us to do for others what we wish they would do for us. Matthew 7:12
The above mindset should epitomize all of our leadership attributes. After all, it sums up the whole law.
Finally, it is very important to note that you cannot give out what you do not have. A leader that will dispense his leadership roles in the light of God’s grace would have surrendered his totality to the king of grace Himself. Therefore, if you have not given Jesus the reign over your life and your leadership position, then I tell you, you cannot deliver or discharge those good leadership skills as you want as the utmost leader is not present in your life. If so, I charge you to invite Him into your life today as tomorrow may be too late.
God is too faithful to fail you but trust and obey him.
