Toward the realization of the Vision 2032 of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, the Directorate of Prayer put together a one-day Prayer Fire Leadership Conference with the theme, “Harnessing the Potency of Prayer Evangelism for Soul Winning”.
Delivering a talk at the conference, Special Assistant to the General Overseer on Personnel, Pastor Julius Olalekan, highlighted the significance of Vision 2032 as a grand plan to convert more souls and push up the church’s membership to 40 million souls before 2032.
He noted the gravity of the assignment ahead, reminding the participants of the vast uncharted territory that remains to be traversed in this soul-winning crusade.
“In Joshua 13:1, God is speaking to all of us; there’s still more lands, towns and cities, villages and nations for us to conquer and yet we are not growing younger. The King’s business requires haste. Jesus Christ said, “I will work the works of Him that sent me while it is day; the night cometh when no man can work”,” Olalekan stated.
He drove home the urgency of the mission, underscoring the vast number of souls teetering on the brink of eternal peril that must be salvaged and restored to the Kingdom of God.
“It is a mandate that requires maximum force. Jesus Christ did it when He came to the world to win souls. The Bible says He fasted for 40 days and 40 nights. Why was He doing that? He knew there was no way He could touch people’s lives without praying. So, He prayed first; he was not praying for money or material things; He was committing the hearts of men into God’s hands.
“For 40 days and 40 nights, He was praying for nothing but for the souls of people. The purpose why God has placed us in this assignment is not for bread and tea; it is because there are lots of souls on their way to hell and they must return,” The special assistant noted.
In his message, Special Assistant to the General Overseer on Administration, Pastor Oladele Balogun, expatiated on the need for anyone intending to win souls for Christ to be sure of being saved first.
Balogun, represented by the Intercontinental Prayer Coordinator, Pastor Peter Olawale, cautioned against engaging in soul-winning endeavours while remaining shackled to the darkness within oneself, likening such an approach to a perilous mission doomed for failure.
Drawing from the Book of Isaiah, Pastor Balogun reminded every leader at the conference of the perils of losing sight of one’s spiritual condition.
“Just as Isaiah prophesied God’s judgments in the first five chapters, only to realize in the sixth that his hands and lips were unclean, so too must we ensure that our souls are purified before embarking on any soul-winning mission,” Balogun stated.
He reminded the participants that prayer ministry is not a social gathering, but rather a sacred space for communing with the Lord. He admonished the leaders to embrace the discipline of waiting on God, emphasizing that this patient devotion would unlock the secrets of self-discovery and illuminate a clear path toward Heaven.
Earlier, the Intercontinental Prayer Coordinator, Pastor Peter Olawale, while welcoming participants, urged them to stay focused and be ready to enrich their wisdom and spiritual guidance.
Olawale said: “I want to welcome all our esteemed guests, ministers, National Prayer Executives, Intercontinental Commandos, the Country’s / Continents’ Assistants, and the Youths / Young Adult intercessors from all the continents, regions and provinces in Nigeria and Diaspora, who have travelled miles to be part of the Fire Conference.”
The Prayer Fire Leadership Conference held at Prayer and Meditation Centre, Redemption City, drew an overwhelming crowd from diverse regions across the mission. It was aimed to rally leaders within the RCCG community to tap into the transformational power of prayer and to develop strategies for effective evangelism through the propagation of the Christian faith in Pari-passu with the vision 2032 of the mission.
